This surah is the first surah of the Quran and is recited in each prayer as the Prophet declared, “There is no salah (valid) without the opening chapter of the Book'. On accepting Islam, a person should first memorize Surah al-Fatiha to be able to perform the prescribed prayers. Its meaning should be learnt and contemplated every time we offer salah. Basically, the Surah is divided into two halves between Him and His servant. - Ayah kursi It is the most blessed Ayah in the Qur’an because of the content, subject, and style of the verses. It is about the Names, Grandeur, and Majesty of Allah SWT. When should this magnificent Ayah be recited? - Before going to sleep every night. - If recited after every single Salah, we have been promised Jannah. - When we wake up in the morning and in the evening for protection from Shaytan. - Surah Al-Nas This is 114th, or chapter, of the Holy Quran, the Muslims holy book. It is a short six-verse invocation, asking Allah for protection from the Satan. It is a Meccan surah. Together with surah Al Falaq it is also known as Al-Mu'awwidhatayn. Dealing with roughly the same theme they form a natural pair. There is a Sunnah tradition of reading this over the sick or before sleeping - Surah Al Falaq This is 113th or chapter of the Holy Quran and it means Daybreak. It is a brief five verse invocation, asking Allah for protection from the evil of Satan. Together with surah An-Nas it is also known as Al-Mu'awwidhatayn. This early Meccan surah provides us to seek refuge in Allah from every kind of ill arising out of nature and from dark and evil plotting. - Surah Al-Ikhlas Al-Ikhlas is Surah Number 112 also known as The Purity and it only contains four verses yet it sums up the essence of Islam. Allah is one and there is nothing comparable to Him. Surah Al-Ikhlas was revealed to Prophet Muhammad, during the early days of Islam. The polytheists and pagans of Mecca one day approached and challenged him saying, “Give us the genealogy of your Lord.” It was then that Allah revealed this surah. Reciting surah Al-Ikhlas may be the means of attaining Paradise and earning Allah’s love. From the ahadith we are able to find some of the many benefits of loving, reciting and living by the principles outlined in this short surah. Briefly and in conclusion, surah Al-Ikhlas is one of the shortest chapters in Quran, yet it is one of the most profound.
